This year Philipp Lahm-Stiftung for Sport and Development, in cooperation with José Carreras International Leukemia Foundation, invites young patients (80 total), who have recovered from this terrible disease, to take part in the Sommercamp. José Carreras’ Foundation will cover all costs for the former patients. It will take place in Bildungsstätte Maxhofen, which is just forty-five kilometers away from Munich, from August 7th to August 13th. This experience will help children to develop the three competences, such as application, nutrition, and character, as well as disease management. A participant may invite one of his/her siblings. Or instead, s/he may invite one of his/her friends, male or female, who is between 10 and 13 years old.
The article cites Philipp, who says:
I am delighted to welcome children and adolescents to my camp. It will enable them to find new strength and experience an adventure.
From what I have heard, there should be two summer camps this year: as always, one in Munich (I suppose it’s the one in Bildungsstätte Maxhofen), and one in Berlin (last year it was in Hamburg).
It is awesome that kids will have fun and meet new friends!
The registration deadline for the one in Bildungsstätte Maxhofen is today, July 8th 2011. If you are interested in reading more about Lahm’s Foundation, you can find all the necessary information on his official website.
