Lahm At the Volkstheater: Postponed

An announcement: the date for Philipp’s presentation of the book has been postponed. The new date will be announced in due time.

Merkur-online.de explains:

The reason for cancellation, according to the publisher Doris Kunstmann, is “a short interval” between the match against Bayer in the Bundesliga on Saturday and the one against Manchester City in the Champions League on Tuesday next week. Thus, Lahm cannot attend the event at the Volkstheater in Munich.

The two consecutive games has been fixed since the Champions League draw in August. There are talks about two possible dates for rescheduling the presentation, i.e. on the 29th or the 30th of November. The tickets that have already been bought are valid. (my translation)

Is it me or does it seem a bit weird? Alright, I completely agree that their reason for postponing it is understandable. It makes sense. However, what I do not understand is why the conflict happened in the first place. The schedule for the games has been fixed since August, so how come they have scheduled the event between those two games? Wouldn’t it have made more sense to check Philipp’s schedule first before doing anything? A bit bizarre, if you ask me.

Also, even though I completely agree with the reason for postponing it, it is somewhat disappointing. I believe it would have been better to have this discussion now, while it is still fresh in people’s minds, than doing so two or three months later. However, as I have already mentioned, the reason for postponing completely makes sense.
